We want to help. The advice below may seem blunt at times, but is meant to help you make an informed decision. We think we have a great product which will satisfy most people and their needs -- BUT NOT ALL.
We are often
asked: will the Car Robe fit my
xxYear, xxModel, Ford, Chevrolet, SUV, Special Model XXX?
etc?
IT WORKS FOR MOST CARS AND MOST PEOPLE. BUT ....
Not all. Also, you should consider that there
is not always a perfect solution (or a perfect fit) to every situation.
The Car Robe is an inexpensive (by most standards), attractive, general purpose car seat
cover that fits most modern car seats in a reasonable, but not always perfect,
fashion. AND is easy to put on and take off.
But how well it fits depends greatly on each make, model and year.
Please
read the advice below and measure and compare and
then decide.
OUR ADVICE:
Since we sell the Rear Car Robe more than the front, this advice is written for the Rear Seat Model, but applies in many ways to the Front Seat version also. The Car Robe has been sold for about 15 years. From sales and return data from the manufacturer we know it fits most cars in either the front or rear version, but it disappoints a small number of customers who do return it. It often will not be a perfect fit for your seat; BUT IT May BE an imperfect fit. For a perfect fit, you should consider buying a custom made car seat cover. They are available, but expensive.
We cannot say with any certainty which cars the robe fits. There are too many makes and models and various iterations of each these days, to keep up. And they change every year. You should measure your seat and compare to the dimensions of the rear car robe which are IN THE REAR VERSION: 58x52" --the 52" the height ; the other dimension is length -- from left door side to right door side.
In general, if there is a problem with the REAR SEAT car robe, it is in those situations where there is no means for the elastic strap at the top to cling to something to support the top being held up. In other words -- if at the top of the back of your rear seat there is no way for the seat to pull forward the least bit, or if there is no lip between the back top and the frame of the car, then the strap cannot cling. The top will not stay up. You should not buy the car robe.
It is unlikely the car robe will be an exact, snug fit, unless there is also a way for the robe, or its weights at the bottom, to slide underneath the seat at the bottom, between the frame and the seat at the bottom and on the sides, and that is often not possible on some of today's makes and models. There is simply no space there for that to happen. Where it is not possible, the robe simply hangs at the bottom and sides. However, it does have weights that slide between the crease where the back seat meets the "fanny" part of the seat; that provides some cling factor and stability factor, and that along with the non-slide texturized backing and the fact it clings to the top, generally keeps it well in place. HOWEVER, Be Aware, the texturized non-slide backing is not glue; it will move to some extent. It will not harm cloth or leather seats.
There is not always a perfect solution to every situation. Our car robe is a general purpose, inexpensive and attractive seat cover. IT WORKS FOR MOST CARS AND MOST PEOPLE, OTHERWISE WE WOULD NOT SELL IT. BUT -- it is not perfect; and it does not work in every situation. It is possible to buy custom made covers. They are expensive but you can buy them.
